Sharjah, UAE — In an inspiring fusion of creativity and conscience, Funun Arts Group, in collaboration with Novotel Sharjah Expo Center, hosted a transformative art and awareness event titled “Whispers of Nature – A Celebration of Flora and Fauna.” The evening unfolded as a heartfelt tribute to Mother Earth, using the power of art, youth voices, and sustainable practices to celebrate nature and promote collective responsibility toward the environment.
Timed during the global observance of World Environment Day and World Ocean Day, the event sought not only to showcase beauty but to stir minds and awaken a deeper connection between people and the planet. Through a series of immersive segments — a youth forum, a sustainable live painting session, and a global art exhibition — Whispers of Nature delivered a message: when nature whispers, we must listen, reflect, and act.
The event was graced by several distinguished guests who are thought leaders in the fields of education, sustainability, journalism, and art. Among them were:
Ms. Farah Naz, Director of Climate and Sustainability Advisory, Middle East & Africa
Mr. Ahmed Al Awadhi, legendary artist, businessman, and respected patron of the arts
Dr. Beena Fatima Haider, Program Head, MSc Marketing, De Montfort University, Dubai
Mr. Rubina, Vice Principal, Ryan International School, Sharjah
Ms. Saida Banu, Head of Arts, International School of Creative Science, Sharjah
Dr. Seema, Educator, Delhi Private School, Sharjah
Ms. Gulnaz Shakeel, Art Educator, Pace British School
Ms. Bhumika Manyar, Founder of The Green Revolution DXB
Mr. Mohd. Yusuf, Senior Editor and Feature Journalist, Gulf Today
Dr. Poonam Chauhan, Eminent artist
Their presence not only lent support to the event but also symbolized the unified effort required across sectors to raise environmental consciousness and promote sustainable development through creative avenues.
The event began with the Youth Forum, a session dedicated to the powerful voices of tomorrow’s leaders. It opened with words of encouragement and urgency by Ms. Farah Naz, who emphasized that real change must be led by informed, empowered youth.
Students from various schools and universities then took the stage to share their reflections on what Whispers of Nature meant to them. Each young speaker presented their perspective on the environmental challenges we face and the role of youth in becoming advocates for the Earth.
Youth Speakers included:
Aafiya Faisal Abdul Wahab Dhamma – International School of Creative Science, Sharjah
Fatima Muhammad Abubakar – International School of Creative Science, Sharjah
Manasvi Manoj – Delhi Private School, Sharjah
Tejas Sohaney – Delhi Private School, Sharjah
Sehajleen Kaur – Ryan International School, Sharjah
Aaradhya Vij – Pace British School, Sharjah
Rishit Chauhan – Ambassador School, Sharjah
Khadija Jabeen – De Montfort University, Dubai
Their speeches were heartfelt and moving, addressing climate action, ecological preservation, and the importance of integrating sustainability into daily life. “When nature whispers,” one student said, “we must respond — with care, with courage, and with creativity.”
The second segment of the evening was a live painting session — but with a twist. In place of traditional canvases, artists painted on eco-friendly tote bags, aligning their creative expressions with the principles of reuse, eco-consciousness, and plastic-free living.
This segment was inspired by World Ocean Day, and many of the artworks focused on marine life, water conservation, and the delicate balance of aquatic ecosystems. As visitors watched the artworks unfold in real time, it became clear that art can be a powerful advocate for change — visualizing the issues we often fail to notice.
Echoes of Earth: A Global Art Exhibition
The final and most anticipated part of the evening was the unveiling of the Whispers of Nature Art Exhibition, featuring 35 stunning artworks, 25 artists and 13 diverse nationalities that interpreted the themes of flora and fauna through a variety of styles, techniques, and cultural lenses.

One of the most touching contributions came from young artist Avigyan Bhattacharya, who hand-crafted greeting cards from real dried flowers to present to all attendees. His gift served as a poignant reminder that nature’s gifts are best preserved when combined with creativity and care.
