The Aswar Art Centre in Sharjah—under the leadership of Dr. Noha Farhah and Mr. Salem Aljunaibi—successfully concluded the inspiring “Spirit of Sharjah” exhibition on January 10, 2026, at the creative and ever-growing SPARK Creative District. Organized in collaboration with the Thinking Art Foundation, the exhibition showcased the top ten artworks selected from more than 80 submissions by artists from across the UAE, the wider Middle East, and beyond.


The event celebrated the unique cultural identity of Sharjah, inviting artists to reinterpret the emirate’s heritage, architecture, and landmarks through contemporary artistic expression.


First Award Presented to renowned Emirati artist Faeze Mohammed


The highlight of the evening was the First Award, proudly presented by Aswar Art Centre to Faeze Mohammed. Her winning artwork “Mleiha Area in Sharjah” deeply inspired by the majestic desert landscape of Mleiha—captured the essence of Sharjah’s timeless spirit.

Influenced by the region’s archaeological significance, vast dunes, and ancient history, Faeze’s piece stood out for its emotional depth, refined technique, and authentic storytelling. Her work bridged the ancient and the modern, honoring the desert’s silence, beauty, and cultural symbolism.

A Celebration of Emirati-Inspired Creativity


Faeze Mohammed’s artwork resonated with viewers for its ability to merge cultural roots with a contemporary artistic voice. The Mleiha area, long celebrated as one of Sharjah’s most important heritage sites, became the heart of her composition—transformed into a visual narrative that reflected both identity and imagination.
