To mark the celebration of Chinese New Year, SHI unveils a special artistic collaboration with acclaimed Emirati artist Faezeh Mohammed, bringing together Chinese heritage and Emirati culture in a refined dining setting.

In honour of the Year of the Horse, Faezeh Mohammed has created a series of bespoke artworks inspired by the strength, grace, and symbolism of the horse — an animal deeply rooted in both Chinese tradition and Emirati heritage. Representing power, resilience, and movement, the horse serves as a shared cultural motif, making this collaboration a thoughtful celebration of cross-cultural storytelling.

The specially commissioned paintings will be displayed throughout SHI in prominent locations across the restaurant, transforming the dining space into a living gallery for the festive season. Guests are invited to experience the artwork as part of their journey through SHI, where visual expression and gastronomy come together to mark the Lunar New Year in a distinctive and meaningful way.

All artworks will also be available for purchase, offering diners and art collectors the opportunity to take home a piece of this cultural collaboration.

Celebrating Heritage Through Art

Faezeh Mohammed is known for her evocative visual storytelling and her ability to bridge tradition with contemporary expression. Her artistic journey began with Impressionism before evolving toward Realism, allowing her to explore depth, emotion, and detail with striking clarity. Drawing inspiration from heritage, identity, and lived experience, her work resonates across cultures and contexts.

Faezeh has participated in numerous local and international exhibitions, including the Peru Biennial, Brazil Biennial, Euro Expo Art, Vernice Art Fair in Italy, ADIHEX, World Art Dubai, and the UNESCO Art Camp in Andorra. Her practice reflects a deep commitment to cultural dialogue — making her collaboration with SHI a natural fit for Chinese New Year.

A Festive Culinary and Cultural Experience

Alongside the art installation, SHI will offer a specially curated Chinese New Year menu featuring elevated interpretations of classic favourites, concluding with a symbolic Yin and Yang dessert to reflect balance and harmony for the year ahead.

The festivities will come live on 16 and 17 February 2026, Chinese New Year’s Eve and Chinese New Year’s Day, with traditional performances including lion dances, hand fan performances, and live Gu Zheng music, creating an immersive celebratory atmosphere across both days.
