Bashar Ibrahim is an Iraqi-Canadian writer, translator, scholar, and educator whose work moves across literature, language, translation, and human rights. His career reflects a sustained commitment to education and intercultural dialogue, connecting academic research with creative and cultural practice.

Ibrahim studied English language and literature, philology, translation, social justice education, refugee protection, and human rights law at the University of Belgrade, the University of London, and the University of Toronto. He is currently pursuing an Executive MBA in Strategic Leadership, adding a further dimension to his interdisciplinary academic and professional profile.

For more than two decades, he has taught Arabic, English, linguistics, literature, and translation at universities and educational institutions across Iraq, Serbia, Canada, and the United Arab Emirates. His teaching career has been complemented by extensive work as a literary and professional translator and interpreter for international organizations, governments, and cultural institutions.

At the heart of Ibrahim's scholarly and creative work is an interest in the ways language shapes identity, memory, and cultural understanding. His areas of interest include Arabic literature, political discourse, translation studies, intercultural dialogue, refugee narratives, and human rights. Through research and conference presentations, he has explored questions surrounding language, media, philosophy, and social justice.

Today, Bashar Ibrahim lives in Dubai, where he continues to combine teaching, translation, scholarship, and cultural engagement.
