About Goran Bregović

Goran Bregović (born March 22, 1950, in Sarajevo) is one of the most celebrated composers and musicians from the Balkans. He gained international fame as the founder and lead guitarist of the rock band Bijelo Dugme, often considered the most influential rock band in the former Yugoslavia.

After the band’s success, Bregović turned to composing film scores and orchestral works, collaborating with acclaimed filmmakers such as Emir Kusturica (Time of the Gypsies, Arizona Dream, Underground). His compositions, performed with his Wedding and Funeral Orchestra, blend Slavic, Roma, and Mediterranean influences into a joyful and deeply emotional musical experience.

Today, Goran Bregović continues to perform around the world, spreading his signature message of love, togetherness, and celebration through music that transcends all borders.
